poverty: the state of being inferior in quality or insufficient in amount.
education: the theory and practice of teaching.

everything starts with an idea.
everything stems from a what if.

what if a poverty stricken country could be freed? what if a new generation of leaders could be taught to teach? what if instead of a continual cycle of poverty, a continual cycle of education arose in its place? what if the practice of teaching flourished, and what if it could chip away at the walls that trap a country in an impovrished state?

what if you really could make a difference in the world?

Conclusion Update. 08

This post is coming late compared to everything else, I know. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog, and I want to thank everyone who prayed for us and supported us while we were down in Belize! A lot has changed for me since coming back home.

This trip really showed me some amazing things about myself, and what my heart is capable of. God has made it very clear through this trip, that there’s a certain place He wants and needs me to be. That place is the Missions Field. Although I’m not entirely sure what that calling entails, I know it is supposed to be, and I strongly feel it is as a teacher. I don’t know where God wants to use me, be it Belize, or Africa, or another place that is in need of me. My heart belongs somewhere where I can work every day at showing God’s love to kids who may not have ever experienced love in its true form.

Pulling everything together for this project, which is due on Friday, I got the chance to look at all of the pictures from our time down there, to re-read my journals and remember everything that happened and touched me in Belize. Part of me wishes I was back there right now, but a bigger part of me is so excited for the future God has planned for me. I can’t wait to get my Education Degree, and let Him put me where He wants to.

Since being back, the money we left at the school has been put to great use! The eaves troughs went in, and they refurnished a whole new classroom they will now use as the resource room for students with special needs. It was such great news to hear, and I can’t help but smile as I write about it again now!

Thanks to all of you for being such a blessing through this entire project, and sending up a prayer for me when you did. I really felt it. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this blog and the updates and viewing all the photos as much as I have enjoyed posting them :)

God Bless you guys,

Cerah

And lastly, a picture of the two-weekers. The Boys (as I am The Girl to them), who put up with me for a large total of over eighteen days including traveling on the plane in the seats next to me. Dubbed ‘Princess’ by the five of them, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share almost every minute of that trip with.

The top photo is group one, and the bottom photo is group two. My project would have gone no where without the help of these two awesome groups of people !
